The North Carolina Transportation Museum is located at the former Southern Railway Spencer Shops and includes the historic structures Barber Junction Depot and Bob Julien Roundhouse. Railroad exhibits include steam and diesel locomotives and other specialty cars. The museum offers a train ride around the 60 acre property. There are themed rides as well including Wine and Dine, Easter Bunny express, and Tractors and Trains.
