The Union Pacific Railroad Museum is located in the building that formerly housed the Council Bluffs Carnegie Free Public Library after the Library moved to a new location. The permanent museum galleries include “America Travels by Rail” which showcases American rail travel from the 1930’s to 1971. There is also the Lincoln Collection and “Building America” which showcases the building of the Transcontinental Railroad.
