The Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad has both tourist train rides and a museum. The signature excursion is a 1 hour and 40 minute trip to the coal mining town of Fraser. This excursion travels over 2 bridges including the 156′ tall Bass Point Creek High Bridge. Themed excursions include lunch, dinner and picnic trains, an Easter train, Pumpkin Trains, and a Santa Express. There are also electric trolley and motorcar rides. The museum includes exhibits telling the history of railroading in Iowa and includes restored locomotives and passenger cars.
